Overview

GCP Cloud EngineerLocation: Washington, DC (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Clearance: Need Secret clearance to start (takes 4 weeks if none active)
Salary: $130,000–$200,000

We’re supporting a major federal customer and looking for an experienced GCP Cloud Engineer to design, automate, and maintain secure, scalable Google Cloud environments. This role focuses on infrastructure automation, CI/CD integration, and implementing DevSecOps best practices in a mission-critical setting.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.

  • Automate deployments and integrations through CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build).

  • Collaborate with software, DevSecOps, and security teams to ensure compliant, cloud-native deployments.

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure SLA adherence.

  • Apply FedRAMP and NIST standards to ensure federal compliance and security.

  • Document configurations and share best practices across the engineering team.

What You Bring
  • Active Secret clearance (TS preferred).

  • 4+ years of overall cloud engineering experience, including 2+ years on GCP.

  • Hands-on expertise with GCP services (Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Functions).

  • Strong background in Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD automation.

  • Solid knowledge of Linux, networking, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred
  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.

  • Experience supporting federal contracts and ATO documentation.

  • Familiarity with AWS or Azure.

  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
