A federal consulting firm in Washington, DC is seeking a GCP Cloud Engineer to design and manage secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. GCP Cloud Engineer — Location: Washington, DC (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Clearance: Need Secret clearance to start (takes 4 weeks if none active)

We’re supporting a major federal customer and looking for an experienced GCP Cloud Engineer to design, automate, and maintain secure, scalable Google Cloud environments. This role focuses on infrastructure automation, CI/CD integration, and implementing DevSecOps best practices in a mission-critical setting.
Design and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
Automate deployments and integrations through CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build).
Collaborate with software, DevSecOps, and security teams to ensure compliant, cloud-native deployments.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure SLA adherence.
Apply FedRAMP and NIST standards to ensure federal compliance and security.
Document configurations and share best practices across the engineering team.
Active Secret clearance (TS preferred).
4+ years of overall cloud engineering experience, including 2+ years on GCP.
Hands-on expertise with GCP services (Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Functions).
Strong background in Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD automation.
Solid knowledge of Linux, networking, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.
Experience supporting federal contracts and ATO documentation.
Familiarity with AWS or Azure.
Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
