Required qualifications include an active Secret security clearance and United States citizenship. Candidates should have at least five years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, systems administration, or a related field, including three or more years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering, Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipeline development and management. At least four years of PowerShell scripting experience is also required.
Successful candidates will bring experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub, and Ansible, as well as hybrid-cloud and on-premises integrations. A strong understanding of Azure networking is essential, including Virtual Networks, Azure DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancer, and Application Gateway. Applicants should have experience implementing cloud security controls and compliance requirements, and be proficient in PowerShell, Python, Bash, YAML, and JSON. Strong troubleshooting, automation, communication, and problem-solving skills are important.
Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize Azure infrastructure and services, including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure Active Directory. Support cloud modernization, enterprise infrastructure optimization, hybrid-cloud integrations, and migrations using Azure Migrate, Azure Arc, and Azure Site Recovery. Configure Azure networking services and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies using Azure Backup and storage lifecycle policies.
Automate provisioning and configuration with Terraform, ARM Templates, and Ansible. Develop reusable infrastructure templates and deployment frameworks, and create automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, and Bash. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitLab, and Jenkins, supporting automated deployments, testing, and release management.
Apply security best practices, including role-based access control, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure DDoS Protection, and encryption. Help ensure compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD requirements, and support vulnerability remediation and security monitoring. Monitor services with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Activity Logs; troubleshoot issues and improve performance. Partner with technical and government stakeholders to provide guidance on cloud architecture and operations.
This full-time, permanent opportunity offers a competitive annual salary of $140,000-$160,000 on a W-2 basis and a comprehensive benefits package. The role is remote and provides the opportunity to contribute to meaningful federal cloud initiatives alongside cross-functional technical teams.
