Job description

Please note: This role is contingent upon contract award. While it is not an immediate opening, we are actively conducting interviews and extending offers in anticipation of the award.

The Work We are seeking a skilled and security-focused Cloud Engineer to support mission-critical systems for our federal government client. The ideal candidate will have experience architecting, deploying, and managing cloud solutions in compliance with government cybersecurity frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD SRG.

Job Location: Remote

What You Will Do:

Design and modernize secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS (GovCloud) and Microsoft Azure, in alignment with FDA architectural and security standards

Implement IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and serverless architectures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.

Develop and manage cloud-native applications using containers, microservices, and APIs, orchestrated via Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.

Automate build, test, deployment, and monitoring pipelines using CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Ansible, and Docker.

Integrate DevSecOps practices with security controls applied early in the SDLC, following a Zero Trust Architecture model and RBAC standards.

Ensure systems meet compliance requirements under NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP, and FDA cybersecurity and governance policies.

Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, scalability, and cost-efficiency across multiple environments (Dev, Test, Pre-Prod, Prod).

Support ATO (Authority to Operate) processes by producing technical documentation, conducting security assessments, and collaborating with FDA cybersecurity teams.

Lead troubleshooting and incident response for performance issues, outages, and unexpected behavior across modernized and legacy systems.

Contribute to system modernization planning, toolchain development, and technical roadmaps for transitioning legacy systems to cloud-native environments.

What You Will Bring With You:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline

3–5+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

3+ years of basic experience with basic networking technologies

US Citizenship or Green Card required due to federal contract requirements

Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.)

What We Would Like You To Bring With You:

Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+, CISSP).

Master’s degree in related field

Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments.

Experience with building full-stack web-based enterprise systems

Experience with SQL and database development

Strong understanding of networking, identity & access management, and cloud security best practices.

Familiarity with federal security standards such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST SP 800-53.

Professional Skills:

Highly effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively at all levels of the business.

Organized, detailed oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is :

$81,094.00 - $201,840.00Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
