Job summary

Arena Technical Resources, LLC (ATR) in Springfield, VA seeks a Cloud Engineer to join an agile development team. The role focuses on automating deployments, optimizing performance, and integrating with enterprise authentication while maintaining robust security and monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience in automating tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Perl.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Familiarity with DevOps development processes and Continuous Integration tools: GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus.
  • Extensive TypeScript or JavaScript background.
  • Angular frontend framework; UI/UX design.
  • Microservice-based backend architecture; integrating with COTS/FOSS software REST APIs.
  • Supporting a full-stack application in a PaaS environment.
  • CI/CD pipeline implementation, ideally with GitLab.
  • Creating and deploying containerized applications, ideally with Docker.
  • Designing/implementing container orchestration with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with A&A Team to maintain security requirements for operation of systems
  • Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc)
  • Produce detailed documentation
  • Maintain System in AWS environment using EC2, S3, Load Balancer, and RDS
  • Automate and optimize service deployments
  • Delivering a full-stack web application to production; identifying and resolving operational issues in same
  • Actively participating in technical requirements-gathering process (i.e. meetings with customers)
  • Executing design and implementation of application features, independently / unassisted, with minimal oversight
  • Refactoring legacy application code for improved reliability and maintainability
  • Mentoring junior developers
  • Writing and reading unit tests; understanding code-quality analysis concepts
  • Writing and debugging Javascript, Typescript, or closely-related language
  • Developing applications backed by a relational database; understanding RDB design concepts

Job Description:


  • The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for working with highly functional development team automating service deployments; optimizing system performance; integrating with enterprise authentication services; establishing/improving system monitoring; maintaining established security protocols; provide customers technical support. The Cloud Engineer will be integrated with an agile environment participating with scrums and other meetings.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work with A&A Team to maintain security requirements for operation of systems

Desired:


  • Strong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS/CLI

  • Experience working with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, or Java)

  • Experience with Go programming language

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal development

  • Database experience with a Postgres backend

  • Strong communication skills


Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
