Job summary

CAI is hiring a Cloud Engineer in Trenton, NJ, offering a hybrid work arrangement. You will lead design, development, deployment, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure, and drive cloud initiatives across AWS and Azure.

You will work with Linux/Windows environments, IaC tools, Python/PySpark, and Generative AI to optimize cloud data pipelines and systems. Strong collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or related field.
  • 5+ years of Cloud Engineering experience with AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience supporting cloud environments and infrastructure.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
  • Experience with Python and PySpark.
  • Experience with Generative AI/LLMs.
  • Root cause analysis on cloud infra and identifying improvements.
  • Strong project management and ability to lead tech projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, maintenance, deployment, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure.
  • Research, design, develop, test, and evaluate systems supporting cloud implementation and cloud service integrations.
  • Support cloud resources to administer, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud environments.
  • Participate in SDLC adherence across planning, requirements, development, testing, and deployments.
  • Architect and implement cloud infrastructure and data pipelines in AWS and Azure following best practices.
  • Establish processes for moving software changes through the development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain metric dashboards to track project success.
  • Build and enhance cloud environments including infrastructure, storage, and databases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet goals and manage risks.

Job Description

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to lead the design, development, maintenance, and deployment, as well as monitor the Cloud infrastructure. The Cloud Engineer will research, design, develop, run tests, and evaluate systems that support cloud implementation and integrate with cloud service providers, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. This position will be full-time and hybrid in Trenton, NJ. Only work authorizations not requiring sponsorship now or in the future will be considered.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the design, development, maintenance, deployment, and monitoring infrastructure
  • Research, design, develop, test, and evaluate systems that support cloud implementation and integrate with cloud service providers, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
  • Support cloud resources to administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and support the Departments cloud application environments/infrastructure
  • Participate in and ensure adherence to all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including planning, requirements, development, testing, quality assurance, and deployments
  • The resource will architect and implement the design, development, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and data pipelines within Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure in accordance with best practices and strategies
  • Establishes, implements, and oversees processes for moving software changes through the development life cycle
  • Ensures metric dashboards are developed and established for tracking and monitoring project successes
  • Develop and enhance cloud environments including deploying cloud infrastructure, storage layers, and database engines to satisfy business requirements
  • Ensure adherence to project goals while managing risks and issues; assess alternate solutions to accomplish goals
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment with inept ability to communicate

What You’ll Need
  • Required:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Cloud Engineering with proven experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud infrastructure
  • Experience supporting cloud application environments and infrastructure
  • Experience supporting Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Experience with Python and PySpark
  • Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on cloud infrastructure to answer specific business and application development teams questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, must have experience leading Technical Projects
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools including AWS Glue, Lambda, Event Bridge, etc.
  • Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services such as EC2, AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, EMR, RDS, Redshift
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages like Python, Java, etc.
Physical Demands

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
