Job summary

DANE LLC is seeking a junior to mid-level Cloud Engineer to join our Automation Engineers and USDC DevOps practice. You will build and support CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, and work across cloud and on‑prem environments to deliver reliable platform services.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, learn new technologies, and contribute to secure, scalable deployments. Flexible work-from-home options are available and a supportive, mission-driven environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• 3+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer.
• 2+ years’ experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and platform support.
• Experience with GitLab, AWS, EKS, Terraform, Docker.
• Experience with Jenkins, OpenShift, Ansible.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving environments.

Position

We are seeking a junior to mid-level Cloud Engineer to join our Automation Engineers and USDC DevOps practice. While each engineer will bring unique strengths in either cloud or on‑premise technologies, both will work together across our DevOps teams, building broad expertise in infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and platform support. You’ll have a designated team home but will routinely participate in cross‑team projects, training, and knowledge sharing, gaining hands‑on exposure to a diverse set of tools and environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines and automation in both cloud (GitLab, AWS, EKS, Terraform, Docker) and on‑prem (Jenkins, OpenShift, Ansible) contexts.
• Participate in infrastructure provisioning and application deployment automation across both environments.
• Troubleshoot, document, and continuously improve deployment, monitoring, and security automation for all platforms.
• Engage with both the cloud and on‑prem teams, proactively learning primary and secondary stacks through onboarding, peer programming, and joint solutioning.
• Share learnings and best practices across the DevOps organization to reduce silos and accelerate overall capability.

Requirements

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Must have an Active DOD Secret Clearance.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer.
• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and platform support.
• Must have experience with GitLab, AWS, EKS, Terraform, Docker.
• Must have Jenkins, OpenShift, Ansible experience.
• Must have exceptional ability to break down complex situations and identify root causes for both technical and process‑related issues.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical users and collaborate effectively with development teams.
• Must have the proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply skills in evolving technical environments.
