Job summary

Electrosoft Services, LLC is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, build, modernize, and sustain cloud-native applications and data services for federal customers. You will lead software and database development activities, architect scalable solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver secure, compliant cloud platforms.

The role requires expertise in cloud-native design, Databricks, and AWS services, with emphasis on Zero Trust security and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Seven or more years of experience in software development, database engineering, full-stack development, or cloud engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience developing cloud-native applications using Python, SQL, Spark, REST APIs, and microservices architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks environments, including Workflows, Delta Lake, Structured Streaming, SQL Warehouses, and Unity Catalog.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native software applications, APIs, data services, and enterprise solutions.
  • Serve as senior technical lead for software and database development for cloud modernization and AI-enabled delivery.
  • Architect and develop applications using modern cloud-native patterns, microservices, serverless, and containers.

  • Implement and optimize cloud-hosted solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, S3, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, Glue, ECS, EKS, Step Functions.

Cloud Engineer

The Cloud Engineer serves as the senior technical expert responsible for designing, developing, modernizing, and sustaining cloud-native applications, databases, APIs, and automated data-processing solutions supporting customer digital transformation initiatives. This role supports the development and operation of cloud-hosted services, Databricks-enabled analytics environments, AI delivery platforms, and enterprise Data-as-a-Service capabilities. The Cloud Engineer works closely with program leadership, federal stakeholders, architects, engineers, developers, and data teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions that align with customer and Federal cybersecurity requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native software applications, APIs, data services, and enterprise solutions supporting mission requirements.
  • Serve as the senior technical lead for software and database development activities supporting cloud modernization and AI-enabled service delivery initiatives.
  • Architect and develop applications utilizing modern cloud-native design patterns, microservices, serverless computing, and containerized deployments.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable Databricks solutions utilizing Delta Lake, Workflows, Structured Streaming, SQL Warehouses, and Unity Catalog.
  • Develop and optimize enterprise data pipelines supporting data ingestion, transformation, analytics, machine learning, and reporting capabilities.
  • Design and maintain robust relational and NoSQL database solutions supporting operational and analytical workloads.
  • Develop secure REST APIs, web services, and application integrations supporting enterprise data exchange and interoperability requirements.
  • Implement and optimize cloud-hosted solutions using AWS services including Lambda, S3, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, Glue, ECS, EKS, Step Functions, and related services.
  • Support integration of AI, machine learning, and agentic AI capabilities into enterprise applications and data platforms.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, infrastructure automation, and deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, and federal stakeholders to define technical requirements and solution designs.
  • Support Agile software development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, solution demonstrations, and iterative delivery.
  • Develop secure software solutions in accordance with Zero Trust architecture principles and secure software development practices.
  • Perform software testing, integration testing, performance testing, and production validation activities.
  • Optimize database performance, query execution, indexing strategies, and storage architectures.
  • Develop technical documentation including architecture diagrams, design specifications, interface control documents, and operational procedures.
  • Support application modernization initiatives, including migration of legacy systems and services to cloud-native environments.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security controls, vulnerability remediation, encryption, authentication, and authorization requirements.
  • Support operational monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and problem resolution activities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for improving platform performance, scalability, automation, and mission delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams and support knowledge transfer across project resources.
  • Support compliance with customer, NIST, FISMA, and organizational security and privacy requirements.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in software development, database engineering, full-stack development, or cloud engineering supporting enterprise environments.
  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience developing cloud-native applications using Python, SQL, Spark, REST APIs, and microservices architectures.
  • Hands-on experience developing, administering, and optimizing Databricks environments, including Workflows, Delta Lake, Structured Streaming, SQL Warehouses, and Unity Catalog.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Aurora, DynamoDB, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience developing and supporting AWS cloud solutions and services.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development workflows, automated testing, and deployment automation.
  • Experience supporting application modernization, system integration, and secure software development within enterprise environments.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments utilizing iterative delivery methodologies.
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, MLOps, AI engineering, or agentic AI-enabled application development initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, database design, application integration, and cloud security best practices.
  • Excellent analytic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability determination, Public Trust, Secret, or higher security clearance as required by the contract.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) platforms, cloud analytics environments, and large-scale data modernization efforts.
  • Experience implementing AI/ML DevSecOps pipelines and MLOps frameworks.
  • Experience supporting development using AWS Kiro, Databricks Agent Bricks, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or similar AI-assisted development technologies.
  • Experience developing secure cloud-native applications within federal government environments.
  • Knowledge of NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP, Zero Trust, and cloud security best practices.
  • Experience supporting containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Experience supporting data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, or AI delivery platforms.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or equivalent.

Pay Range: $175,000 USD - $195,000 USD
