Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a technically skilled engineer to design, implement, and support technology solutions with a strong focus on vulnerability remediation for cloud resources, servers, and workstations. You will research technologies, consult with vendors, and apply best practices to design secure solutions, while coordinating with WashU IT to align with research and administrative objectives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.
• 2 years of relevant experience.
• No specific certification/professional license is required.
• A driver's license is not required.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
• Preferred certifications: ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP from INCOSE.
• Adaptability is valued across roles including EDW, Enterprise Operations, and SharePoint Integration.
• Experience with SQL Databases, VMware Virtualization, Systems Analysis, and problem solving is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and provide engineering support for technology solutions.
• Focus on vulnerability remediation for cloud resources, servers, and workstations.
• Research and analyze technology, consult vendors, and apply best practices to design technical solutions.
• Consult with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
• Validate, test, and implement new products and services.
• Respond to and resolve incidents escalated from operational teams.
• Handle performance tuning requests using critical thinking.
• Create and maintain design documentation for services, solutions, and interfaces.
• Review security alerts in Orca Security and Tenable.
• Coordinate with cloud subscription and system owners to remediate vulnerabilities, risky configurations, and other information security issues.
• Work with technical staff within WashU IT to align services with university research, teaching, patient care, and administrative objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
