Job summary

Red Alpha seeks a seasoned Cloud Engineer in the United States to design, implement, and optimize scalable cloud architectures. You will work hands-on across AWS, Azure, Oracle, and Google Cloud, leveraging Terraform and Helm in secure, compliant environments.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software engineering, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a Secret clearance. Expect collaboration with cross-functional teams and ongoing professional growth in a dynamic culture.

What you bring to the table:

All of our cloud engineers need the following skills:

• Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Oracle, or Google Cloud.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• A Secret security clearance.

For this particular role, you will also need:

• 8+ years of solid software engineering experience.
• Strong Kubernetes / Amazon EKS experience, including building performance-tuned clusters at scale
• Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud, specifically IL5 and IL6 environments
• cDSO (DoD DevSecOps) pipeline development experience — Iron Bank, hardened images, container scanning
• Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and Helm in disconnected environments
• Application performance tuning at scale (gaming/simulation workloads ideal)
• Well-Architected Framework alignment

These are important skills to have, but not necessarily mandatory:

• AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification or similar.

Salary Range:

• Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself.
• Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $180,000 - $240,000.
