Job summary

Unissant, Inc. seeks a Cloud/DevSecOps Architect to join our team and support a federal client. The ideal candidate is a senior enterprise architect and technical leader with deep experience establishing technical strategy for cloud-native, secure applications.

This role will drive modernization, DevSecOps maturity, secure delivery, and architecture governance across a complex portfolio, providing hands-on guidance and mentorship to technical teams.

Qualifications

  • Ten+ years of experience in enterprise systems architecture.
  • Four+ years of cloud-native environments and DevSecOps pipelines in secure federal environments (FedRAMP Moderate or equivalent).
  • Experience designing shared services across multi-application portfolios.
  • Experience integrating security scanning and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience evaluating AI-assisted development tooling.
  • Experience providing technical leadership for cloud migration and modernization.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, security, DevSecOps, IaC, and secure SDLC practices.
  • Experience with regulated organizations (federal/healthcare/research) preferred.
  • Familiarity with federal IT security and compliance requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain modernization roadmap across all enterprise systems.
  • Enforce DevSecOps best practices, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
  • Design shared services and reusable architectures to reduce duplication.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement AI-assisted delivery tools in compliance.
  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines are maintained with security scanning and compliance checks.
  • Provide technical oversight of cloud migration and modernization activities.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor to the Program Manager and client stakeholders.
  • Mentor technical leads and development teams on modern architecture patterns.
  • Provide leadership for application modernization, cloud adoption, and governance.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and architectural dependencies.
  • Collaborate with leadership, cybersecurity, and stakeholders to align solutions.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, roadmaps, standards, and patterns.

We are seeking a Cloud/DevSecOps Architect to join our team and support our client. The ideal candidate is a senior enterprise architect and technical leader with deep experience establishing technical strategy for cloud-native, secure federal application portfolios. This individual will serve as the Contractor's chief technical authority for the enterprise application portfolio, driving modernization, DevSecOps maturity, shared architecture, security integration, and deliberate technical-debt reduction across enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will possess strong enterprise architecture, cloud modernization, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and technical leadership experience. The candidate will be responsible for guiding modern engineering practices, secure delivery processes, cloud migration activities, and architectural risk management across a complex application portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain the technical baseline and modernization roadmap across all enterprise systems.
  • Enforce DevSecOps best practices, automated testing, and secure coding standards across all development, operations, and maintenance activities.
  • Design shared services and reusable architectures that prevent technical silos and reduce duplication of effort across the portfolio.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement AI-assisted delivery tools in accordance with applicable procurement, authorization, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines are maintained and integrated with security scanning, automated testing, and compliance checks for all supported applications.
  • Provide technical oversight of cloud migration and modernization activities, including readiness assessments, re-architecture recommendations, and FinOps practices.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor to the Program Manager and client stakeholders on architecture decisions, emerging technologies, and technical risk.
  • Mentor technical leads and development teams across the portfolio on modern architecture patterns and engineering standards.
  • Provide technical leadership for application modernization, cloud adoption, architecture governance, and technology lifecycle planning.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks, technical debt, security concerns, and architectural dependencies across the enterprise portfolio.
  • Collaborate with program leadership, engineering teams, cybersecurity personnel, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission, business, security, and operational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, technical roadmaps, standards, design patterns, and implementation guidance.
Work Experience and Job Skills:
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in enterprise systems architecture.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience focused on cloud-native environments and DevSecOps pipelines in secure federal environments, such as FedRAMP Moderate or an equivalent environment.
  • Demonstrated experience designing shared services and reusable architectures across multi-application portfolios.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating security scanning, automated testing, and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing AI-assisted development tooling.
  • Experience providing technical leadership for cloud migration, application modernization, and architecture-risk management.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, cloud security, DevSecOps practices, CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, application modernization, and secure software development lifecycle practices.
  • Experience supporting complex federal, healthcare, research, academic, or similarly regulated organizations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with federal IT security and compliance requirements is preferred.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Preferred fields of study include Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant technical field is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
  • Relevant cloud, architecture, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, or agile certifications are preferred.
  • Preferred certifications may include AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, SAFe, CISSP, Security+, Kubernetes, or equivalent certifications.
Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex architecture, security, modernization, and technical-risk decisions to technical teams, program leadership, and client stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide clear technical recommendations, briefings, roadmaps, and documentation in a highly confidential environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive, technical, and non-technical audiences.
Clearance Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance is required.
Travel:
  • Travel may be required based on client and program needs.
  • Work may be performed at government facilities, remote locations, or approved employee work locations in support of program requirements.
  • Mainly a routine office environment.
  • May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Flexible in working extended hours as needed to support program requirements.
