Job summary

Sophos is hiring a Software Engineer 2 to support and improve automation, tooling, and release processes for cloud-based services. You will work with engineers across teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling in a hands-on, execution-focused role.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot Linux environments, write automation scripts in Groovy, Python, and Bash, and responsibly use AI-assisted engineering tools to boost productivity while maintaining security and

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting and scripting skills.
• Experience with cloud and container platforms (AWS, Kubernetes, EKS).
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and artifact tooling.
• Ability to investigate and resolve build, deployment, and environment issues.

Responsibilities

• Support CI/CD pipelines and release automation for SaaS apps and microservices.
• Maintain developer tooling like GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory.
• Deploy and troubleshoot builds across dev, QA, prod.
• Assist Kubernetes/Amazon EKS deployments and health checks.
• Use Terraform to provision cloud infrastructure.
