Job summary

Everforth ECS seeks a Cloud DevOps Engineer to work in our Arlington, VA office or remotely. The role requires hands-on Linux/Windows and cloud-native experience, a strong automation mindset, and the ability to own design through deployment.

You will design secure AWS infrastructure with Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation, build CI/CD pipelines with security baked in, apply DISA STIGs and NIST 800-53/FedRAMP, and support Docker/Kubernetes workloads while keeping documentation current.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience across Linux, Windows, and cloud-native environments.
• Built and maintained CI/CD pipelines and written IaC at scale.
• Experience in compliance-driven environments (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, DISA STIGs).
• Ability to pass a Public Trust investigation and US citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; 3+ years of general work experience; AWS certs.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy secure cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, Ansible, and/or CloudFormation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with security baked in from the start.
• Write automation with Ansible and Terraform to ensure repeatable deployments.
• Deploy and troubleshoot cloud-native apps across EC2, VPC, EKS, S3, RDS, and related services.
• Implement security controls including IAM, encryption, network security, SELinux, and kernel hardening.
• Apply DISA STIGs and ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP.
• Support container workloads using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Collaborate with development and security teams to advance DevSecOps.
• Maintain documentation to avoid reinventing the wheel.

We’re looking for an engineer with strong hands-on experience across Linux, Windows, and cloud-native environments, paired with a deep automation mindset.You’ve built and maintained CI/CD pipelines, written IaC at scale, and worked in compliance-driven environments where NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and DISA STIGs aren’t foreign concepts.They’re part of your normal workflow. You operate independently, you communicate well across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you take ownership of your work from design through deployment. Experience supporting federal customers in air-gapped environments is a meaningful differentiator for this role.

What You’ll Do

• Design and deploy secure cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, Ansible, and/or CloudFormation

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) that bake security in from the start

• Write automation in Ansible coupled with Infrastructure defined by Terraform code to cut down on manual work and keep deployments consistent

• Deploy and troubleshoot cloud-native applications across EC2, VPC, EKS, S3, RDS, AWS Bedrock, and related AWS services

• Implement and maintain security controls including IAM, encryption, network security, SELinux, and kernel hardening

• Apply DISA STIGs and ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP requirements

• Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS

• Collaborate with development and security teams to push DevSecOps practices forward

• Keep documentation current so the next person isn’t starting from scratch

Salary:$130,000 - $160,000

• 3+ years in Linux and/or Windows system and network administration (DNS, VPN, firewalls)
• 3+ years with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible
• 3+ years in Linux and/or Windows system and network administration (DNS, VPN, firewalls)
• 3+ years with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms
