Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a driven On-Guard Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud Engineering/Managed Services team. You will onboard and secure AWS-hosted, single-tenant environments for key customers and automate scalable, repeatable architectures for future growth.

Responsibilities include maintaining the health of the AWS cloud-based managed service, building automation tools, and ensuring high availability and cybersecurity across a distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience with AWS (S3, EC2, VPC) or similar cloud.
• 3–6 years networking experience, ideally cloud-focused (VPC, VPN).
• 3+ years DevOps with IaC and tooling (AWS SSM, Ansible, Chef).
• 3+ years validating Windows Server 2012–2025 and virtualization (Hyper‑V/VMware).
• 3+ years optimizing relational DBs (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with RESTful or SOAP APIs.

Responsibilities

Lenel/S2 is looking for a driven professional to join its Cloud Engineering/Managed Services team to onboard and secure the On-Guard AWS hosted single-tenant environments for our key customers, as well as help automate sustainable and repeatable architecture for future growth.

As a system development engineer, you will be responsible for the overall health of our AWS cloud‑based managed service and develop key automation tools for our customers. You will create availability and health metrics, monitor performance, perform regular system maintenance, and architect innovative solutions running our On-Guard Cloud access control system in a large, distributed environment.

You will automate routine tasks enabling the team to be quick and agile. You're an expert in system automation for Lenel On‑Guard Cloud on AWS and work closely with internal customers to understand operational challenges and provide successful outcomes. You will support onboarding and expansion of key customers, diving deep and reverse engineering solutions when required. This is a customer‑facing position.

A day in the life of an OnGuard Cloud Team Member

Engineers switch between onboarding projects, automation design, troubleshooting, and collaboration with internal and customer teams. We help customers reduce technical debt by migrating legacy on‑premises access control servers to the AWS‑hosted OnGuard Cloud Access Control System. Our team fully manages the customer’s OnGuard application, infrastructure, and underlying AWS environment to ensure high availability and strong cybersecurity. We onboard both existing and greenfield customers, making every project unique. We support the latest OnGuard versions, providing improved availability, performance, and new features. Engineers design new automated solutions and enhance monitoring, working from a backlog of features and user stories to improve shared processes with Honeywell teams.

About The Team

The Managed Services Team within Lenel/S2 is a new premium service offering to key customers. With the introduction of cloud‑based solutions, our team offers another way to up‑level our customers’ experience and help them go beyond security using our products.

Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and secure the underlying AWS infrastructure that hosts Lenel On‑Guard.
• Manage OS and collaborate with software developers and end‑users to diagnose issues.
• Manage infrastructure services, application deployments, cloud services, and monitoring.
• Provide visibility into business and systems performance metrics.
• Work with Lenel/S2 and AWS teams to maintain, manage, and enhance the platform.
• Expand configuration management infrastructure to enable rapid deployment of new services.
• Work with Information/Cyber Security to perform security audits and proactively make recommendations and improvements.
• Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation.
• Develop engineering and automated deployments for IaaS system configurations.
• Collaborate with engineers both internal and external to troubleshoot and improve documented procedures.
• Implement engineering changes to the system as required.
• Integrate and test software and hardware components required by customers.

Qualifications

• 3‑6 years of experience using Amazon Web Services (S3, EC2, VPC, etc.) or other cloud platforms (heavy AWS focus).
• 3‑6 years of proven networking experience, ideally with cloud experience (AWS basics, VPCs, VPN tunnels).
• Programming and scripting skills in PowerShell, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, and C#.
• Experience with third‑party and internal RESTful or SOAP APIs.
• 3+ years of DevOps experience using infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) and automation tools such as AWS SSM, Ansible, Chef.
• 3+ years of experience configuring, securing, patching, and managing Windows Server 2012‑2025 and Hyper‑V or VMware.
• 3+ years of experience optimizing relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Ability to work 24/7 on‑call rotation as needed.

We Value

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of automation tooling and scripting programming (CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, PHP, Visual Basic, .NET, Ruby, Java, C).
• 2+ years of experience with Linux or Windows systems administration.
• Understanding of systems development lifecycle from conception to delivery (Kanban framework).
• Experience administering/operating Lenel On‑Guard 7.x/8.x.
• Collaborative ability to create innovative managed solutions and tools for internal teams and customers.
• Proven experience creating documentation for production systems.
• Experience in a 24/7 online environment.

Salary

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $91,200–$137,000. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $94,400–$142,000. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, training and key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
