Job summary

Google in Fremont, CA is seeking a Software Engineer for IT Infrastructure to own database solutions on Google Cloud Platform, lead end-to-end ETL development, and drive data-driven initiatives for hardware products.

You will collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to design scalable data pipelines, leverage AI/ML methods, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced, high-scale environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in creating and managing managed databases on GCP (Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Cloud Spanner, Cloud Bigtable).
• 5 years of experience in developing ETL software solutions using C, C++, Python.
• 5 years of experience developing automation using Terraform.
• 5 years of experience in developing analytical reports and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manufacturing partners and Engineering teams in structuring the data content and data pipelines.
• Architecting, designing, developing, testing and maintaining database software applications on GCP.
• Architect and Create managed Databases on GCP. Design and Develop software applications for ETL pipeline.
• Follow the software development standards and implement best practices in documenting user requirements, design, coding and testing of database solution.
• Partner with cross-functional teams, leadership, engineers, program managers, and data scientists to understand business and application needs.
