Job summary

Tamayo Federal Solutions, LLC is seeking Jr to Mid-level Application Programmers to support government data center operations and cloud environments. You will design, develop, test, and optimize database-driven applications, while ensuring security and data integrity across on-premises and cloud platforms.

The role involves SDLC work, documentation, and collaboration with a results-driven team to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant application programming or database development experience.
• 3–6 years of relevant application programming, database development, SQL, PL/SQL, or related technical experience for Level II.
• Experience with database design, development, and administration.
• Working knowledge of Oracle database environments; expert-level Oracle experience not required.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud database platforms and services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL).
• Experience implementing secure, scalable, highly available cloud database architectures.
• Familiarity with data modeling, performance tuning, indexing strategies, and database security best practices.
• Experience working in DoD or federal cloud environments (e.g., Azure Government, AWS GovCloud) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
• Develops block diagrams and logic flow charts.
• Translates detailed design into computer software.
• Tests, debugs, and refines the computer software to produce the required product.
• Prepares program-level and user-level documentation.
• Enhances software to improve efficiency and reduce operating time.
• Provides technical direction to programmers to meet deadlines.
• Applies SDLC, Azure DevOps, SAFe product management principles for development and deployment.
• Designs, develops, and maintains database solutions to support functionality and performance.
• Creates and manages database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Writes and optimizes complex SQL queries to support business and system requirements.
• Implements and maintains cloud database services (Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, DynamoDB).
• Monitors database performance and security in cloud environments using tools.
