Job summary

Amazon is hiring for a Software Dev Engineer II in Redmond to work on the Aurora Storage team. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software that powers cloud database services used by thousands of customers.

You will mentor engineers, engage in architecture discussions, and contribute to high-impact, low-defect code. The role requires strong communication, leadership, and customer focus in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Help our team drive efficiencies in software architecture
• Create metrics, implement automation and other improvements, and resolve the root cause of software defects
• Build high-impact solutions to deliver to our large customer base
• Participate in design discussions, code review, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Work cross-functionally to help drive business decisions with your technical input
• Work in a startup-like development environment, where you’re always working on the most important stuff
