Job summary

Hansen Talent Group is seeking a Database Admin to support cloud-native data solutions and monitor cloud-based relational databases such as AWS RDS and Azure SQL. The role involves managing cloud DB operations, tuning SQL, and ensuring high availability.

The ideal candidate will work with stakeholders and platform engineers to define requirements, optimize performance, and automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Python. Strong SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-native relational databases.
• Experience with cloud-native monitoring tools (CloudWatch or equivalent).
• Strong SQL proficiency and query tuning.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders and engineers to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Provide guidance on database architecture, configuration, and security for cloud environments.
• Manage AWS RDS and Azure SQL databases, tuning performance and optimizing queries.
• Use CloudWatch/Azure Monitor to track performance, identify bottlenecks, and suggest improvements.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and DR activities.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Python to streamline operations.
• Provide status updates on DB operations to stakeholders.
