Job summary

Ladders is assisting a healthcare leader in seeking a Cloud Database Architect V to shape enterprise cloud database architecture in a mission-critical environment. You will lead modernization, governance, resiliency, and partner with technical teams to deliver secure, scalable data platforms.

The role focuses on cloud-native database strategy, migration planning, and operational excellence, with deep expertise across multiple enterprise database technologies and AWS-based services such as RDS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in database engineering, administration, or architecture.
• 5+ years in cloud-native solutions.
• Experience with mission-critical database platforms in public cloud environments, especially AWS.
• Deep expertise in at least two enterprise database platforms (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with AWS database services like RDS and Aurora; familiarity with IaC.

For our client, we are seeking a Cloud Database Architect V to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will shape enterprise cloud database architecture across a complex, mission-critical healthcare environment. You will lead modernization efforts, strengthen governance and resiliency, and partner with technical and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable data platforms. The position is centered on cloud-native database strategy, migration planning, and operational excellence. It also requires deep expertise across multiple enterprise database technologies and AWS-based services.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $145,000 – $175,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the enterprise cloud database strategy and architecture roadmap.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient database solutions.
• Lead database modernization and migration initiatives, including assessments and solution design.
• Architect resilient database solutions with high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Establish enterprise standards for database governance, security, and operational readiness.
• Evaluate emerging database technologies and recommend lifecycle management strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design tradeoffs and coordinate implementations.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in database engineering, administration, or architecture, with 5+ years in cloud-native solutions.
• Proven experience with mission-critical database platforms in public cloud environments, especially AWS.
• Deep expertise in at least two enterprise database platforms, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Extensive experience with AWS database services like RDS and Aurora, and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices.
