Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Engineer 5 to advance cloud-first data platforms. You’ll design and deliver scalable data pipelines, work with Python, Spark, SQL, and Snowflake/Databricks, and collaborate across agile teams to empower millions with trusted data solutions.

You’ll mentor engineers, shape architecture, and push for efficiency and reliability in a growing data ecosystem, with opportunities for impact across Citizens, Partners, and customers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
At least 6 years of experience in application development.
At least 4 years of experience in distributed data systems.
At least 4 years of experience with SQL.
At least 2 years of experience in data modeling and end-to-end data solutions.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support data solutions.
Lead large-scale data pipelines and platforms focusing on scalability and resilience.
Design data models and end-to-end data solutions across relational and NoSQL stores.
Mentor peers and drive architectural decisions for cloud-first data platforms.
