Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Engineer 5 (Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering) in Plano, TX. You will design and deliver cloud-first data solutions, collaborate with Agile teams, and guide engineers and data scientists in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include building scalable data pipelines, applying Spark/Databricks/Snowflake, and enforcing data design patterns. A strong background in distributed data, SQL, and programming is required, with experience mentoring peers and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field required.
6+ years in application development; 4+ years in distributed data.
4+ years SQL and 4+ years programming in Python/Java/Scala.
Experience designing and developing data pipelines and data models.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Agile teams to design, test, and support data solutions.
Influence engineers, analysts, and scientists on data architecture.
Use Python, Spark, and cloud data warehousing platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.
Build scalable cloud data solutions and mentor junior engineers.
Design reusable data patterns for maintainability and performance.
Lead end-to-end data initiatives and evaluate platform choices.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
