Job summary

Volunteer State Community College is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines across the college data ecosystem. The role leverages Python, SQL, and Delta Lake within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem to acquire, transform, and manage data from Ellucian Banner and external APIs.

A strong focus on data quality, reliability, and scalable data models supports BI analyses and strategic initiatives for the campus community.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree with 3+ years or bachelor’s with 1+ year related experience.
• Experience programming with Python and SQL.
• Knowledge of data pipelines and data engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Python/SQL.
• Integrate data from Ellucian Banner and external APIs into a Lakehouse.
• Develop dashboards and reports for BI analysts and campus stakeholders.
• Collaborate with RASI and IT teams to ensure data quality and governance.
