Job summary

DataStaff, Inc. seeks a Cloud Engineer to lead data integration initiatives in Raleigh, NC. The role is hybrid, requiring onsite presence at least one day per week.

You will design and operate secure pipelines and cloud-native data assets for statewide programs. Responsibilities include building medallion-based data warehouses, enforcing governance, and collaborating with architects, security teams, vendors, and agency partners to ensure reliable data delivery and compliance with HIPAA, CJIS,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud data engineering and integration with modern lakehouse architectures.
• 5+ years ETL and pipeline development with orchestration and lineage.
• 3+ years data quality, metadata governance, and compliance practices.
• 3+ years security and privacy alignment with HIPAA, CJIS, and NIST plus DevSecOps awareness.
• 3+ years networking and cloud fundamentals including IAM across Azure/AWS/SAS Viya.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data integration across statewide programs and agencies.
• Design, implement, and modernize the enterprise landing zone and cloud ingestion patterns.
• Build secure data pipelines and migrate legacy feeds to scalable cloud-native services.
• Develop cloud-based data warehouse capabilities with medallion structures (Bronze,Bronze,Gold).
• Define storage/partitioning conventions and promote governance and privacy controls.
• Evaluate emerging tools and AI-assisted development to improve reliability and readiness.
