Job summary

FMNE Insurance is seeking a Data Engineer to join our IT team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks, ensuring high-quality data for analytics and reporting.

You will collaborate with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders, focusing on data governance, security, and performance while advancing cloud-first data platform modernization in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in data engineering or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in data pipeline development, ETL/ELT, and databases.
• Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning within SQL Server or similar RDBMS.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and related Azure data services.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps tools.
• Experience with data modeling techniques for analytics and dashboards.
• Strong understanding of data privacy, security, and governance concepts.
• Familiarity with Python or PowerShell is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Build and optimize data models, tables, and views for reporting and self-service analytics.
• Ensure data reliability, availability, and performance through monitoring and tuning.
• Gather data requirements and define data contracts across stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Architecture to support cloud-first modernization.
• Support CI/CD through integration with Azure DevOps and automated deployments.
• Apply data quality, profiling, and cleansing techniques to ensure dataset accuracy.
