Job summary

NJ TRANSIT seeks a Senior Project/Program Manager to lead cloud migration initiatives across AWS, on-premise VMware, and data center relocation efforts. The role drives cross-functional planning and execution, bridging technology, operations, and delivery in a transforming infrastructure landscape.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in program management, experience with cloud and on-prem projects, and strong stakeholder communication. PMP is preferred; a bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; PMP certification strongly preferred.
• Seven+ years of project or program management experience.
• Experience managing both cloud and on-prem infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and VMware virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of AWS cloud migration initiatives across applications, infrastructure, and data services.
• Coordinate with Cloud Computing team to sequence migration waves based on readiness and business impact.
• Establish structured migration plans for an early maturity cloud environment.
• Maintain program-level roadmaps, risks, dependencies, and executive reporting.
• Oversee data center relocation planning and execution, including inventory and cutover planning.
• Ensure rollback plans and downtime windows are defined and approved.
• Provide clear communication to technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
• Develop governance frameworks for cloud adoption and infrastructure change management.
