Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking engineers to build and operate large-scale data-intensive services in the cloud from our East Palo Alto office. You will translate requirements into robust architecture, implement and test distributed components, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Ideal candidates have strong software development experience, OO design skills, and hands-on work with multi-tier systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for large-scale systems.
• 1+ years of SDE or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Translating functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.
• Coding and testing complex system components.
• Participating in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.
• Working with other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud.
• Overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Mentoring other engineers, defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing team
