Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Catalog organization seeks experienced software engineers to build large-scale data-intensive systems and distributed services in the cloud.

You will translate requirements into architecture, code and test complex components, and participate in reviews to uphold high standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Mentoring teammates and shaping a fast-growing engineering culture are core parts of the role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Translating functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.
• Coding and testing complex system components.
• Participating in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.
• Working with other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud.
• Overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Mentoring other engineers, defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing team.
