Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Data Architect to design scalable, cloud-native data platforms and AI-ready foundations for clients across industries. You will work with stakeholders and engineering teams to translate business goals into robust data solutions, guiding architecture decisions throughout delivery.

You will partner with AWS/Azure/GCP and modern data tools, lead architecture efforts, and mentor engineers while advancing data governance and security practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and modern data architectures.
• Strong understanding of data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, streaming architectures, and data governance concepts.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and a desire to continue expanding your expertise across the broader cloud ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve cloud-native data architectures (data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, real-time platforms).
• Translate business objectives into scalable, secure data solutions.
• Lead architecture and technical design from discovery through implementation.
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver data platforms across AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake.
• Design and operationalize AI-ready data foundations for analytics, ML, and Generative AI.
• Apply AI-enabled engineering practices to improve quality, productivity, and delivery outcomes.
• Facilitate architecture workshops and stakeholder alignment.
• Mentor engineers and architects to grow technical capabilities.
• Share best practices with Data Engineering teams and Center of Excellence to advance delivery.
• Support business development activities including solution design and pre-sales efforts.
