Job summary

A global IT consulting firm is seeking a Cloud Consultant responsible for building Test and Production environments using Chef and Puppet. The role requires expertise in scaling virtual web infrastructure and understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Ideal candidates will have excellent scripting skills and experience with Agile/Scrum software development practices. This position offers an immediate hire opportunity in Stow, MA.

Qualifications

• Experience with scaling virtual web infrastructure using Chef and Puppet.
• Expert understanding of Virtualization, Clusters, and Scalability.
• Solid automation skills, particularly with Chef.
• Excellent scripting skills in languages like bash, python, perl, or ruby.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, or similar.
• Experience with J2EE in HA configurations and web technology stack.
• Experience with web services and enterprise web apps.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development.
• Understanding of SDLC testing components and deliverables.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Part of a small scrum team responsible for building Test and Production environments using Chef and puppet to build and deploy the environments and applications.
• Design and assist in building new capability architecture
• Provide a deep understanding of RHEL, Cloud Services, Virtualization, Clusters, Automation, scaling, and more

Qualifications

• Cloud services – experience scaling virtual web infrastructure – Experience with Chef and Puppet
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform (RHEL) or derivative distributions of Linux
• Expert understanding of Virtualization, Clusters, Scalability, and the like
• Experience in automating processes (Chef)
• Excellent scripting skills in bash, python, perl, ruby, or like languages.
• Experience with J2EE environments running in High Availability configurations. Thorough understanding of the entire Web Technology Stack
• Experience with webservices and enterprise level web applications
• Experience with rapid release software development practices (Agile/Scrum)
• Solid understanding of testing components and deliverables within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
