Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. in San Diego is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join the Snapdragon Guardian / Compute Sentra team. You will design, develop, and validate microservices, APIs, and event pipelines powering device management and IoT security at scale.

Join a team building cloud services, learning to leverage AI-assisted coding tools, and collaborating across product, QA, and engineering to deliver end-to-end features. This on-site role requires a B.Sc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Foundational programming experience in an object-oriented language (Java, Kotlin, C#, or similar).
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL fundamentals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend microservices for the Compute Sentra SaaS platform.
• Implement REST APIs, event listeners, and data models under guidance of senior engineers.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Be exposed to modern AI-assisted software development in daily workflow.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and monitor services in our cloud environment.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and other engineers to deliver features end to end.
