Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design and maintain cloud-hosted platforms and APIs powering AI-enabled health tech across diagnostics and care workflows. You will build scalable data pipelines for multimedia data, contribute to web UI components when needed, and perform rigorous testing and reviews in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline with 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience writing maintainable and testable backend code in C#, Python, or Java.
• Experience building Cloud-based backend services and APIs (PaaS/SaaS/IaaS).
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving across distributed systems.
• Experience with SPA frameworks such as React or Angular.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-hosted platforms and APIs for AI-enabled apps.
• Build data pipelines for large objects like images, videos, and STL files.
• Contribute to front-end development when needed for web UI components.
• Perform code reviews to ensure coding standards and architecture guidelines are followed.
• Implement automated unit and integration tests to ensure quality.
• Prototype concepts to benchmark backend design approaches for cloud solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA testers, mobile/XR/web/desktop engineers, security, and regulatory teams.
• Translate functional requirements into secure, scalable backend components.
