A3 Consulting, LLC is seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer. In this role, you are responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructures and services. In this job you will:

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable and reliable cloud-based automated capabilities in support of mission objectives.
  • Evaluate, select, and optimize appropriate cloud services and infrastructure based on project requirements.
  • Leverage tools such as Python, Lambda, and React to develop solutions designed to support management and administration personnel.
  • Design and implement automated data visualization capabilities to monitor cloud performance and utilization.
  • Configure and manage cloud services on AWS.
  • Optimize resource utilization, costs, and availability.
  • Implement security best practices to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of cloud-based systems.
  • Configure and optimize infrastructure performance.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track the health and performance of cloud resources.
  • Set up alerts for key metrics and events.
  • Configure, manage, and monitor cloud-based storage solutions.
  • Implement backup and data retention strategies.
  • Implement containerization using tools like Docker.
  • Orchestrate containers using Kubernetes or similar technologies.
  • Work closely with technical support teams to understand mission requirements and optimize management and administration support capabilities.
  • Collaborate on Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes
Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant Computing Environment (CE) Certification Required (i.e. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Microsoft Certified Windows Server Administrator, etc.).
  • DoD 8570/8140 IATII or better Certification Required. (i.e. Security+ CE, SSCP, CND, GSEC, GICSP, CCNA-Security, etc.).
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Cloud Automation Engineer or in a similar role.
  • 3+ years’ experience with CI/CD development paradigms (i.e. Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps).
  • 3+ years’ experience with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing automations for Windows Domains, Servers, and Services such as Active Directory.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scripting and automation with Python, Lambda, React, etc.
  • Experience with Government Cloud environments (i.e. GovCloud, Commercial Cloud Services (C2S), Joint Warfighter Cloud Capability (JWCC), etc.).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for staying updated on industry trends and best practices in software development and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Understanding of DoD policies, directives, and initiatives as they relate to custom application development (i.e. DoD Risk Management Framework (DoDRMF), DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Section 508 Compliance, etc.).

Salary range:
  • The salary range of this position is $145,000 - $165,000 commensurate with experience and achievement.
