As a Cloud Automation Engineer, you will join the Cloud Operations team. You will work within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, partnering with development teams and other technology personnel to provide agile, cost-effective, and secure cloud strategies and environments through automation, tooling, policy, and governance. Strong development engineering experience and prior cloud services experience are required.

Your tasks will include:

  1. Engineering and maintaining highly available, secure, and cost-effective tools for managing and provisioning cloud accounts and users.
  2. Developing and operating tooling for cloud networking and security solutions.
  3. Partnering closely with the security team to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
  4. Collaborating with technology teams to maximize the use of cloud managed services.
  5. Optimizing the use of cloud resources and services to maximize ROI and control costs.
  6. Ensuring resiliency and high availability for customers and participating in an on-call rotation to support service availability.
  7. Engineering technical solutions to prevent or reduce failures.
  8. Collaborating with various technology teams to ensure high reliability and dependability of new systems.

To be a good fit for the Cloud Automation Engineer role, you will have:

  1. Previous experience in Python, Go, Java, or .NET.
  2. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure.
  3. Experience with Docker, cloud orchestration (AWS CloudFormation or HashiCorp Terraform), build management (CodeBuild, Jenkins, or similar).
  4. Experience with best practices for developing and operating in the cloud, and engineering IAM solutions.
  5. Linux/Unix administration experience, specifically Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat, in a cloud environment.

Nice to have:

  1. Experience with change management and establishing proper development, testing, and staging environments.
  2. Understanding of networking fundamentals, including VPCs, Subnets, NAT, ACLs, Gateways, Interfaces, etc.
  3. Experience with Agile and iterative delivery.
  4. Strong documentation and diagramming skills.
  5. Ability to communicate complex processes and designs.
  6. Experience with web application security principles.
