Centers for Disease Control & Prevention in Atlanta, GA seeks a Cloud Computing Application Architect to design, implement, and guide secure, scalable cloud solutions for public health modernization. You will lead architecture decisions, collaborate with engineers and product teams, and ensure governance and security in AWS and hybrid environments.

The role requires hands-on cloud design, DevOps practices, and the ability to mentor teams while advancing cloud automation and cost-effective

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience designing, configuring, and administering enterprise applications in cloud environments.
• Experience with .NET, Entity Framework, and SQL.
• Experience architecting and deploying solutions in AWS and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience developing secure, cloud-based architectures and adhering to governance standards.
• Experience using GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude Code.
• Experience deploying IaaS environments and Linux/Unix with shell scripting.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and automation tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Ability to lead technical teams and obtain Public Trust eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud architectures for Public Health modernization.
• Assess environments and recommend tools, architectures across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid models.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to guide architectural strategy and execution.
• Deploy and troubleshoot solutions within AWS and hybrid cloud environments with governance and security.
• Utilize Gen‑AI tools to support development workflows and improve productivity.
• Advance cloud delivery through automation, DevOps practices, and security while mentoring team members.
