Job summary

cFocus Software Incorporated seeks a Cloud Architect to support the United States Air Force. This on-site role in Linthicum Heights, MD requires an active TS/SCI clearance.

You will design and implement enterprise cloud and hybrid solutions, assess workloads, and plan modernization with rigorous security and RMF controls. You will coordinate with Government stakeholders and technical teams to define architectures, automation, and cross‑domain integration, ensuring compliant, scalable cloud

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Experience designing enterprise cloud and hybrid solutions aligned with mission needs.
• Ability to assess workload dependencies and plan modernization, migration, and integration.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, data integration, access controls, monitoring and recovery design.
• Knowledge of impact levels, classified environments, authorization boundaries, Zero Trust, RMF/ATO.
• Understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, CaC, and automated security controls.
• Ability to document architecture and assess cost, capacity and risk.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating Government stakeholders and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain DC3 cloud computing strategy aligned with IT architecture and mission requirements.
• Assess workloads, infrastructure, interfaces, and dependencies; develop target cloud architectures and phased transition plans for Government review.
• Design integration between cloud and on‑premises apps, networks, infrastructure, and data services, including edge computing for global missions.
• Develop designs for multiple impact levels across classified and unclassified environments and define security controls with ATO boundaries.
• Plan cross‑domain integration and CSSP capability integration with cybersecurity and network teams.
• Define architecture patterns for Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, and CI/CD with government guardrails.
• Design logging, monitoring, observability, alerting, and performance reporting across cloud resources and boundaries.
• Incorporate resilience, availability, capacity, recovery, and continuity into cloud designs and coordinate acceptance with engineering teams.
• Assess technical debt and prepare trade studies across Refactor, Replatform, Replace, and Retire; evaluate TCO and build/buy options.
• Develop migration plans for high‑risk workloads to multi‑cloud environments while TEMPEST improvements are performed.
• Prepare technical designs and architecture documentation; support enterprise architecture docs and maintain traceability.
• Coordinate architecture reviews and change control; guide implementation and testing for government review and deployment.
• Support RMF, ATO, and continuous ATO activities through control designs, evidence, and monitoring.
• Define resource tagging and attribution for data governance and FinOps; analyze utilization and cost allocation.
• Evaluate technology options and modernization risks; brief recommendations to government stakeholders and guide teams on secure configurations.
