Position Overview

Rackner is seeking a Cloud Architect to gather requirements and design deployments and transitions across Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud environments. The Cloud Solution Architect will plan migrations to cloud service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Office 365, GCP, or similar platforms, and act as a technical lead, guiding the design and recommending optimal solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with end users and application experts to elicit requirements for scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud systems.
• Plan data migration strategies, including lift and shift, for cloud-based systems.
• Design ingress and egress data transfer solutions for cloud migrations.
• Select appropriate cloud services based on data, database, and security needs.
• Manage integration with on-premises enterprise networks and systems.
• Apply cloud architectural best practices.
• Estimate and manage cloud costs, implementing cost control measures.
• Provide guidance and oversight to technical team members on design and architecture tasks.
• Offer technical clarity to Cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS consultants.
• Review final work products for accuracy and adherence to design principles.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
• Either a Master's degree with 10 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 14 years of professional experience in research, design, and development of computer and network software or utilities, including database maintenance.
• Experience applying programming concepts in professional or academic settings.
• Experience with modern software development methodologies like Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps.
• Cloud Computing vendor architecture certification.
