Job summary

Luna Data Solutions, Inc. in Jackson, Mississippi is seeking a Cloud Specialist for a long-term, onsite contract. You will design, implement, secure, migrate, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure to meet security and performance goals.

The role collaborates with infrastructure, security, and application teams to migrate workloads, monitor operations, and continuously improve governance, cost, and reliability across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform.
• Hands-on automation and scripting.
• Strong cloud networking understanding.
• Advanced VM management experience.
• Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
• Linux administration experience.
• Understanding of cloud security and governance.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable cloud architectures for IaaS and PaaS environments.
• Ensure security, compliance, data protection, and privacy of cloud environments.
• Safely migrate existing on-premises apps, workloads, and databases to public clouds.
• Monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure performance to identify and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design and implement controls using cloud auditing, monitoring, and security tools.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using scripting.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, networking, server, and application issues.
• Maintain current knowledge of cloud products, technologies, services, and best practices.
• Contribute to modernization of the organization's cloud infrastructure.
