Job summary

A technology services provider in Washington, D.C. is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect with expertise in AWS and experience with multicloud environments. Responsibilities include designing scalable cloud solutions, ensuring federal compliance, and collaborating with DevOps teams. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience and strong communication skills. Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect and others in cloud technology.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture, with a strong focus on AWS.
• Proven experience in multicloud environments (Azure, GCP, Oracle).
• Experience working with federal agencies and securing FISMA Moderate/High systems.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Python, Java, Open Tofu, Bash).
• Deep understanding of cloud networking, security, and automation.
• Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Git).
• Experience with Cloud Formation or other automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of cloud compliance frameworks and security best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions primarily on AWS.
• Design and deploy multi-tier, fault-tolerant applications using cloud-native services.
• Lead and co-design cloud migration efforts from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.
• Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST standards for federal systems.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Implement cost optimization and performance tuning across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and automated deployments.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities and automation into cloud operations.
• Conduct technical reviews, audits, and security assessments of cloud infrastructure.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend strategic improvements.
