Job summary

The Washington Post is seeking a senior cloud architect to own Arc XP's AWS architecture and automation, guiding CI/CD, IaC, and delivery pipelines. You will shape identity, gateway design, and AI-enabled workloads, working with a high‑caliber engineering team to ensure secure, scalable delivery across edge and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and building highly scalable distributed systems across teams.
• Deep AWS expertise and strong CI/CD with infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Proficiency in Python and Node.js, with Go or Java experience.
• Knowledge of identity protocols (SAML, SSO, MFA, OAuth) and related tooling.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into production systems is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Own Arc's AWS architecture and automation, spanning CI/CD and delivery pipelines.
• Define and evolve infrastructure as code, compute, data and AI gateway patterns.
• Design service interfaces, identity, and gateway components with guardrails.
• Mentor engineers, influence cross‑team architecture, and improve delivery reliability.
