The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide strategic guidance, and drive best practices for cloud infrastructure, automation, governance and operation. This is not a development-heavy role but requires deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and operational excellence.
Job Description:Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Architecture Design: Lead the design and implementation of GCP-based cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and database solutions, to meet business and technical requirements. Responsible for creating and maintaining design documentation.
- Infrastructure Optimization: Optimize cloud environments for cost, performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency using tools like GCP Cost Management, Compute Engine, and Kubernetes Engine.
- Security and Compliance: Implement robust security frameworks, including IAM policies, encryption, VPC Service Controls, and compliance with standards such as SOC 2 and HIPAA and providing evidentiary processes.
- Automation and IaC: Drive infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices with Terraform to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- Networking and Connectivity: Architect and manage VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, and hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity solutions to ensure secure and efficient network performance, monitoring and operational effectiveness.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement HA/DR strategies, leveraging GCP services like Cloud Load Balancing, Managed Instance Groups, and Cloud Storage for data redundancy.
- Performance Monitoring and Incident Response: Establish monitoring and alerting systems using Google Cloud Operations Suite and lead incident response for infrastructure-related issues.
- Strategic Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, aligning cloud strategies with business objectives and fostering a culture of continuous learning, embracing change and innovation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure solutions with application workloads.
