Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a highly skilled Cloud Architect to support USPACOM J6 IT Modernization. This role focuses on secure cloud design, modernization, and cross-domain collaboration at Camp Smith, HI, with an emphasis on mission impact and partner interoperability.

Required are 8+ years in cloud environments, a BA/BS, and a Top Secret clearance. The role involves coordinating with cybersecurity, networking, and mission partners to deliver scalable enterprise capabilities

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in IT/DoD environments.
• Top Secret clearance required or the ability to obtain it.
• Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to coordinate across engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and mission partner teams.

Responsibilities

• Support IT modernization projects from requirements definition through planning, integration, testing, and transition.
• Collaborate with technical teams to mature prototypes and modernization sprints.
• Develop cloud and hybrid-cloud architecture recommendations for secure modernization.
• Coordinate cloud design decisions with cybersecurity, network, application, and infrastructure stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation, briefings, and recommendations for leadership.

GDIT is seeking a Cloud Architect to support USPACOM J6 IT Modernization Project Support activities at Camp Smith, HI, helping modernize enterprise IT capabilities and strengthen mission partner interoperability across the Pacific.

How the Cloud Architect Will Make an Impact

• Support IT modernization projects from requirements definition through planning, integration, testing, and transition.
• Collaborate with technical teams to mature prototypes, modernization sprints, and enterprise capability improvements.
• Develop cloud and hybrid-cloud architecture recommendations that support secure modernization and mission scalability.
• Coordinate cloud design decisions with cybersecurity, network, application, and infrastructure stakeholders.
• Collaborate with USPACOM J6 stakeholders, service components, mission partners, and GDIT team members to resolve technical challenges.
• Prepare clear technical documentation, briefings, status inputs, and recommendations for customer and internal leadership.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Education: BA/BS degree required to be considered
• Required Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience supporting the role, mission area, or equivalent DoW/enterprise IT environment.
• Required Technical Skills: cloud architecture; secure cloud migration; hybrid cloud design; automation; security and compliance; modernization roadmaps.
• Security Clearance Level: Top Secret
• Required Skills and Abilities: Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, technical writing, customer engagement, and ability to coordinate across engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and mission partner teams.
• Preferred Skills: Experience supporting USPACOM, combatant command, service component, or joint/coalition mission environments. Experience working in government site environments and coordinating with military and civilian stakeholders. Cloud certification from AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or DoW cloud ecosystem experience.
• Location: On customer site at Camp Smith, HI.
