We are seeking an experienced and innovative Cloud-Native Firewall Architect to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-native firewall solutions. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust security and compliance across our cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop cloud-native firewall architectures that meet business and security requirements.
Ensure that firewall architectures align with cloud best practices and company policies.
Develop and document firewall strategies, policies, and procedures.
Implementation and Management:
Implement and configure cloud-native firewall solutions across various cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Monitor and manage firewall performance, making adjustments as necessary to optimize security and efficiency.
Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to manage firewall policies and configurations.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure firewall configurations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits of firewall policies and configurations.
Implement and maintain advanced threat protection mechanisms and intrusion prevention systems.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with network engineers, cloud architects, and security teams to integrate firewall solutions with overall network and security architectures.
Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for firewall-related issues.
Train and mentor junior staff on firewall technologies and best practices.
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cloud-native firewall technologies and security trends.
Identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of firewall solutions.
Lead initiatives to enhance security posture and reduce risk.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network security, with a focus on firewall design and management.
Proven experience with cloud-native firewall solutions and architectures in AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
Strong background in network and application security.
Skills:
Proficiency in firewall technologies such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Check Point, or equivalent.
Deep understanding of cloud security best practices and architecture patterns.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and integration tasks.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or similar are highly desirable.
