Databases & Analytics is a growth area for Microsoft Azure, including a broad portfolio of IaaS and PaaS services that empower customers to build, deploy, and manage database and analytics applications in a cloud-native manner.

As an Innovative Data Platform Solution Engineer (SE), you will help enterprises unlock the potential of Microsoft’s cloud database and analytics stack throughout deployment. Your role involves collaborating with engineering leaders and platform teams to accelerate the Fabric Data Platform, including Azure Databases and Analytics, through engagements like Proof of Concepts, hackathons, and architecture workshops. This role offers opportunities for career growth, deepening business and technical skills, and mastering solution design and deployment.

You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers in secure, scalable solution design, influencing technical decisions, and facilitating database and analytics migrations, helping them modernize their data platforms and realize the full value of Microsoft’s solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Drive technical sales through demos and PoCs, influencing solution design and enabling production deployments.
  • Lead hands-on engagements like hackathons and architecture workshops to promote adoption of Microsoft’s cloud platforms.
  • Build trusted relationships with platform leads, co-designing secure and scalable architectures.
  • Resolve technical blockers, collaborating with engineering teams to improve products.
  • Maintain expertise in Analytics Portfolio (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview Data Governance, Azure Databases) and related competitors.
  • Stay updated on on-premises EDW solutions and BI solutions.
  • Represent Microsoft in thought leadership within cloud Database & Analytics communities.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience, or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/IT with 2+ years experience, or
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science/IT with 1+ year experience, or
  • Equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in Azure Databases (SQL DB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL) and Azure Analytics (Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview), including migration and AI app development.
  • Proven ability to lead technical engagements like hackathons and PoCs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in technical pre-sales, consulting, or related fields.
  • Experience with cloud/hybrid infrastructure, migrations, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in data warehouse and big data migrations, including on-prem appliances and Azure Synapse Gen2.

The base pay range in the US is USD $85,100 - $169,800, with higher ranges in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City. Additional benefits may apply. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
