Google LLC is seeking a Senior Director of Cloud AI Safeguards Engineering to lead strategy, design, development, and operations of Safeguards for the Cloud AI portfolio including Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise. You will bridge advanced AI engineering with robust safety systems and drive scalable, secure solutions across geographies.

The role requires strong leadership, with experience building teams that deliver impact while navigating evolving threats and model capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 20 years of professional experience in engineering leadership or related technical roles.
• 10 years of experience in AI/ML with focus on safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy for Cloud AI Safeguards.
• Set vision for AI, products, and safety systems across multiple products.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and metrics.
• Oversee secure, multi-tenant cloud systems for AI workloads.
• Recruit and develop engineering leaders and technical contributors.
