Job summary

Google LLC in Kirkland/Sunnyvale seeks a Share Field Application Engineer (Hardware) to be on-site, advising customers on AI infrastructure hardware issues. You will drive hardware analysis, debugging, and issue resolution across complex stacks, collaborating with Product and Engineering to enhance Google Cloud hardware solutions.

The role emphasizes on-site customer engagement, deep technical debugging across CPU/dGPU/TPU, and working with SREs for high-quality outcomes in a global cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/MIS or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years debugging/validation with CPU/dGPU/TPU.
• 3 years experience with technical infrastructure, deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• 3 years hardware debugging (silicon, platform, IO interface, memory).
• Experience with Linux/Unix and troubleshooting across hardware/software boundaries.
• Experience triaging issues across the stack (hardware, software, networking).

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-call activities and manage server and data center AI/ML workloads.
• Diagnose, resolve, or instrument tools to improve AI/ML infrastructure productivity.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and Engineering to improve hardware products.
• Develop understanding of AI/ML workloads and underlying hardware architectures.
• Act as consultant for internal stakeholders to resolve deployment obstacles in AI infra environments.
