Job summary

Northwest x Southern Hospitality in Adrian, MI is hiring for an item-prep and merchandising role. You will place apparel on hangers, tag items, price them and prepare racks for transport to maintain store presentation and drive sales.

The position requires standing for extended periods, some evening and weekend work, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds while supporting store standards and quality control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Sales experience preferred.
• Able to stand for two hours at a time over an eight-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Places items on hangers and hangs on Z rack.
• Prepares clothing racks for the store according to the store quality and pricing standards.
• Uses pricing machine, adhesive price tags and tagging gun to price items per standards.
• Meets or exceeds goals and standards of production and quality.
• Accomplishes assigned cleaning routine.
• Assists in the training of workers and consumers with Workforce Development Department staff.

Job Summary

Places sorted apparel on hangers and hangs on Z racks, tags, prices and prepares racks for transport. Directly impacts organizational sales (50% of Goodwill sales are associated with apparel sales).

Essential Functions

• Places items on hangers and hangs on Z rack.
• Prepares clothing racks for the store according to the store quality and pricing standards.
• Uses pricing machine, adhesive price tags and tagging gun to price items in accordance with store standards and Store Manager's direction.
• Meets or exceeds goals and standards of production and quality.
• Accomplishes assigned cleaning routine.
• Assists in the training of workers and consumers in cooperation with the Workforce Development Department staff.

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in sales is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Able to stand for two hours at a time over a period spanning up to eight hours.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach, and lift up to 40 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree, and be able to move large boxes, furniture, and other heavy items. Salary: $14.25 per hour
