Job summary

D The position on the sales floor focuses on providing excellent customer service while selling clothing, footwear and accessories. You will advise customers, stock and restock merchandise, participate in inventory, and assist with order placement as needed.

Physical tasks include standing for long periods and lifting up to 75 pounds to move merchandise, with emphasis on teamwork and maintaining store presentation.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of retail floor sales techniques.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
• Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues.
• Demonstrated teamwork.
• Exposure to visual merchandising and product placement techniques is desired.

Responsibilities

• Sell merchandise and advise customers on price and features.
• Provide merchandise knowledge and recommend accessories.
• Assist customers in ordering specialized merchandise as needed.
• Receive and display merchandise according to policies and standards.
• Answer telephone inquiries and handle routine calls.
• Maintain floor cleanliness and monitor merchandise condition.
• Participate in inventory cycle activities.
• Move material using tools and equipment including pallet-jacks and forklifts.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
