About the Job

Closing Driver is paid a higher rate and undertakes additional closing tasks. You need only close at least three nights per week to qualify for the higher pay, though you can drive for other shifts. The role also includes helping with dishes, cleaning the store, and other end‑of‑day store responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility daily.
  • Maintain store equipment.
  • Read a map and navigate to designated locations.
  • Locate addresses and deliver across adverse terrain while carrying product.
  • Perform closing duties such as restocking, final dish cleanup, and shutdown procedures.
Training
  • Orientation and on‑the‑job training provided.
  • Training focuses on taking orders, labeling boxes, delivering product safely, and avoiding hazards and distractions on the road.
Communication Skills

Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions, and to communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.

Essential Functions / Skills
  • Accurate and quick mental math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) or use of a calculator.
  • Make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for precise quick movements.
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Qualifications

Minimum age 18 years old; two‑year driving history; must pass MVR and background check; must be listed as a driver on the insurance policy covering the vehicle you will use.

Physical and Work Conditions
  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks.
  • In‑store temperatures range from 32°F in cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas.
  • Extreme weather conditions such as temperatures ranging from 0°F to 110°F, rain, fog, sleet, snow, ice, wind, dust, etc.
  • Sudden changes in temperature inside the store and while outside.
  • Exposure to fumes from food odors; cornmeal dust; cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler; hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F; sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing—most tasks are performed from a standing position; height of most work surfaces is between 36 and 48 inches.
  • Walking, jogging, or running for short distances or short durations.
  • Paperwork usually completed in an office at a desk or table.
  • Lifting—bulk product deliveries up to 50 pounds; cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds with dimensions up to 3′ × 1.5′; stacks up to 72″ high.
  • Carrying—large bags, boxes, or crates up to 50 pounds; trays of pizza dough (approx. 12 pounds per tray) carried three at a time over short distances.
  • Pushing—moving trays on dollies; force up to 7.5 pounds required to push a stack of trays.
  • Climbing—occasional stairs or ladder for maintenance tasks.
  • Forward bending at the waist at assembly, front counter, and stocking.
  • Crouching or squatting occasionally; reaching above 72″ to turn oven controls; reaching down for tasks such as scooping cornmeal or washing dishes.
  • Hand tasks—eye‑hand coordination required; continuous use of hands; forearm and wrist use for pizza peel, rolling cutter, cardboard pizza box assembly; grasping cans, phone, pizza cutter, etc.
