Lee’s Marketplace Bakery Clerks assist in the operation of the Bakery Department, including packaging, labeling, displaying, and verifying baked goods, while engaging with guests in person, over the phone, or digitally. They work in a fast-paced environment maintaining high standards of customer service and knowledge of bakery products to create a positive shopping experience.

Primary Position Duties
  • Assist in production, development, preparation, and maintenance of bakery items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Display and restock bakery products, ensuring shelves are filled, fresh, rotated, faced, and cleaned.
  • Maintain accurate food inventories.
  • Educate customers about bakery products and services.
  • Attend training sessions and utilize digital training platforms to maintain certifications.
  • Process orders digitally and in person.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Guest Service
  • Greet and assist guests courteously.
  • Provide knowledgeable responses to inquiries.
  • Promote a positive environment through friendly and professional communication.
  • Take guest orders accurately and process transactions promptly.
  • Resolve guest issues effectively, embodying Lee’s Way principles.
  • Assist guests with website navigation and online orders.
Product Handling
  • Stock shelves and maintain displays per store standards.
  • Ensure product freshness through quality checks and rotation.
  • Unloading deliveries and organizing stock rooms.
  • Package and label products electronically.
  • Maintain proper product freshness, pricing, and merchandising.
Cleanliness and Safety
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Report hazards or equipment issues.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations.
Cash Handling (if applicable)
  • Operate cash registers accurately.
  • Follow policies on returns, exchanges, and refunds.
  • Secure cash and financial transactions.
Team Collaboration
  • Work cooperatively to achieve store goals.
  • Participate in meetings and training.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Work efficiently in a busy environment with tact and patience.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to store profitability.
  • Follow all company policies and promote a harassment-free environment.
Position Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Food Handler's Permit required (can be obtained after hiring).
Availability
  • Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
Tools and Machinery
  • Mixers, pallet jacks, ovens, slicers, scales, and other bakery equipment.
Education and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
