The role requires a finance/economics/CS or analytical liberal arts degree, 0–1 year experience, and proficiency in Excel, VBA and Python. A strong communication skill set and desire to grow in financial markets are essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring monthly and quarterly reports are accurate and distributed to investors.
• Monitoring compliance with indenture requirements and identifying tests at risk of failure.
• Developing and maintaining risk and analytical models for market dislocations and opportunities.
• Collaborating with AVP/VP of Leveraged Loans on portfolio optimization strategies.
• Working with traders and trustees to determine daily investable cash.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. CNO Financial Group’s 40|86 Advisors is hiring a CLO Portfolio Analyst. The group currently manages about $1.25B in leveraged loans within collateralized loan obligation (CLO) structures and $350M in CLO debt securities. The individual will be primarily responsible for ensuring that our portfolios adhere to investor requirements as is expected to learn about fundamental credit analysis, portfolio and risk management, and structured credit to contribute to the investment process.

Core responsibilities and deliverables:

• Ensuring monthly and quarterly reports are accurate and distributed to investors.
• Monitoring compliance with indenture requirements and identifying tests at risk of failure.
• Developing and maintaining various risk and analytical models that assist in identifying market dislocations and opportunities.
• Working with the AVP and VP of Leveraged Loans on portfolio optimization strategies.
• Working with the traders and trustees in determining our daily investable cash.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or analytical Liberal Arts major
• 0-1 years of experience, inclusive of internship experience. Recent grads are welcome to apply!
• Proficiency in Excel, VBA and Python is required.
• A strong passion for financial markets and willingness to learn, ask questions, and accept guidance and feedback.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred experience:

• Portfolio of VBA or Python projects for review
• Interest in pursuing CFA designation in the future

Location & Travel:

This role is affiliated to the Carmel, IN corporate office, and candidates for this role need to reside within a 60-mile radius of that corporate office and will be required to come into that office. You may be asked to travel to other corporate offices periodically. Please be aware that work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.

Compensation:

The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is also eligible for CNO’s performance-based annual bonus program. Compensation Pay Range: $81,000.00 - $121,600.00 Annual
