Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. In this role you’ll register patients, verify insurance, schedule visits and answer calls to support physicians and families.

You will collect vital signs, prepare rooms, assist during procedures, and provide patient education. The ideal candidate has CMA certification, a high school diploma, and at least one year of clinic experience, with EMR experience preferred.

Jobbeschreibung

Acts as collaborative member of the clinical team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Responsible for registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and answering of telephone. Initiates patient care assessments, gathers vital signs, prepares patient and exam room for procedures, and collects specimens. Provides patient education and support as needed to assist physician, patient and family. Returns patient phone calls.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.

Experience

Minimum of one year clinic experience in clinic setting. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Previous customer service experience preferred. Typing, word processing, computer, and telephone skills preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities

Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to use computer, fax machine and copy machine. Must be detail oriented and work well in a team environment. Experience with GPMS/EMR is desired. BCLS must be received within the orientation period.
